Prolific teen activist Greta Thunberg has called for her Fridays For Future campaign to go digital as the coronavirus (COVID-19) pandemic continues to worsen.

The 17-year-old environmentalist encouraged fellow strikers to avoid large group gatherings – which may be banned in the UK from next week – and strike against the climate crisis through social media.

‘Change our behavior’

“School strike week 82. In a crisis, we change our behavior and adapt to the new circumstances fo the greater good of society,” Thunberg wrote on Twitter.

“Join the #DigitalStrike – post a pic of you with a sign and use #ClimateStrikeOnline ! #schoolstrike4climate #fridaysforfuture #climatestrike #COVID?19.”
